  1. The documentation for Calendar Mate is in CAL4DOCS.EXE, a self extracting
  2. file. The documentation files take approximately 100K of disk space. To
  3. get access to the documentation, type in CAL4DOCS
  4.

  6. To install Calendar Mate on a hard drive:
  7.  
  8. 1) Create a new subdirectory on your hard disk with the commands
  9.     C:
  10.     CD \
  11.     MD CALMATE4
  12.  
  13. 2) Copy the contents of the distribution disk to this new subdirectory
  14.    COPY  A:*.*  C:\CALMATE4
  15.  
  16. 3) In order to save diskette space, the documentation has been compressed. To
  17.    decompress it, type in CAL4DOCS. Afterwards, you may print it by typing in
  18.  
  19.    PRINT CALMATE4.DOC
  20.  
  21. 4) Run the setup program to choose the appropriate print driver,
  22.    calendar language, date format and program window colours. Type in
  23.  
  24.    CD \CALMATE4
  25.    SETUP

  28. To install Calendar Mate on a floppy disk system:
  29.  
  30. 1) Copy the contents of the distribution diskette to a fresh diskette.
  31.    Put the distribution diskette in the A drive, a fresh diskette in
  32.    the B drive (if you have one) and type in
  33.  
  34.    DISKCOPY A: B:
  35.  
  36.    If you only have one floppy drive, you will be prompted to switch
  37.    disks periodically. Remember that the 'source disk' is the CALENDAR
  38.    MATE distribution diskette and the 'target disk' is the fresh diskette.

  40. 2) In order to save disk space, the documentation has been compressed.
  41.    If you have 360K diskettes, you'll have to copy the documentation file
  42.    to a different diskette. Type in

  44.    COPY A:CAL4DOCS.EXE B:
  45.  
  46.    If you're using 720K disks or higher, you don't have to copy the docs
  47.    to a fresh diskette. To decompress the documentation, type in
  48.  
  49.    CAL4DOCS
  50.  
  51.    and a file called CALMATE4.DOC will appear.

  53. 3) Run the setup program to choose the appropriate print driver,
  54.    calendar language, date format and program window colours. Put
  55.    the newly copied diskette in the A drive and type in
  56.

  58.    SETUP

  60. If you are migrating from a 4.x version of Calendar Mate, you simply
  61. have to rename your parms file and help file as follows:

  63. RENAME CALHELP.DAT *.CH4
  64. RENAME CALPARM.DAT *.CP4

  66. Also, copy all the print drivers from the distribution disk and the
  67. calendar program:

  69. COPY A:*.PRD
  70. COPY A:CALENDAR.EXE
  71.  
  72. From now on, the file extension of the Calendar Mate files will reflect
  73. the release number.

  76. If you are currently running an earlier version of Calendar Mate,
  77. please note that the format of everything has changed; the event
  78. file, the parms file and the print drivers are all incompatible
  79. with different versions and you MUST run SETUP to convert the
  80. data files.

  82. When you run SETUP, it is absolutely CRUCIAL that you are in the
  83. same subdirectory as all the other CALENDAR MATE files otherwise
  84. unpredictable results will occur.

  86. After SETUP has executed, type in CALENDAR to start Calendar Mate.
